The Country Basketball League was created to allow Country based Basketball Associations an opportunity to show case their more senior junior and senior players, who in many cases are coming out of the junior ranks and looking to find their next challenge/direction, others just enjoy continuing to be involved on a senior competition of this sort.
The State based Competition run with 4 separate Divisions : Being North East - North West – Gippsland - South West with both a Men and Women’s competition available in each Division.
Bacchus Marsh Basketball Association (BMBA) first entered a Men’s Team in 2019 and that team went on to play in their divisions Grand Final, while not winning it was a great start to what was hoped would be an on going opportunity for our Association, and they have continued to perform well in the seasons since.
In 2021 the BMBA also entered an inaugural Women’s Team to also provide this next level opportunity to our your female players wanting to towards the senior basketball career.
The season proper normally runs between Oct and Feb each year and fits in nicely prior to Basketball Victoria’s BIGV competition which is next level up of competition which normally commences about Mar each year.
To play for the BMBA CBL team you need to attend a number of try out sessions normally held in Sep each year and be selected to play. A CBL team which normally runs with up to 15 players on each team and please note these try out dates will be advertised on our website/facebook and Instagram well prior.
