The Victorian Junior Basketball League is the largest basketball competition of its type in the world and creates an environment where Association Junior Representative Teams can come together and compete at appropriate level of competency.
Bacchus Marsh Basketball Association (BMBA) first entered teams in 2006 with 4 teams from which we won the title in 3 grades and since then, we have entered a team in most age groups each season.
The BMBA VJBL Program today enjoys the pleasure of Alan Mance Mitsubishi as its VJBL program sponsor which began with the 2023/24 season and as such we acknowledge the huge support Alan Mance provides to the BMBA with their financial contribution.
The BMBA see this competition as providing an opportunity for those kids wanting to improve their skill, a great platform to do so. To qualify or be selected to play for the BMBA there are a number of tryout sessions each year which any player can nominate to attend, prior to the season proper at which Coaches from the BMBA put players through various sessions by age group to assist them to select what is typically 8 players per team.
The VJBL tryout sessions will be advertised on our Website/Facebook and Instagram well prior.
Then depending on where that team qualifies via competition grading games, you may be playing anywhere from Geelong to Frankston to Diamond Valley and anywhere in between, so to achieve success in this competition is something every Association strives for.
Now not all players chose to tryout/play VJBL but I am sure those who do and make the cut, enjoy the experience immensely.
