BMBA "Taking it to the Schools"
Each year in Term one and Two the BMBA offer an in-school clinic for all new Preps attendees at all the Primary Schools in the Bacchus Marsh area.
Most schools take advantage and we then have a team of Coaches who go out to the schools and run a ‘let’s try Basketball session’ within their own school gym.
We believe these fun sessions give those kids in attendance the opportunity to try some small aspects of the game of basketball and get to see if it is something they may like to pursue further.
The In-school program is manned by a couple of experienced senior Coaches and a number of our younger Coaches who are normally from our Junior Representative playing group.
With the emphasis in fun and a far bit of laughter, most sessions are very well received.
In most term one and term two periods we will run clinics with as many preps as possible and then this program becomes our feeder program to ensure we then have good numbers that wish to continue on to our Beginner’s Program, which is run after school on a Weds night each term.
